Soft End, Strong Start
Progress doesn’t always look productive & Soft growth still counts
Visionary,
This week wasn’t loud.
It wasn’t structured.
It didn’t follow a neat plan.
But it mattered.
Because I’m starting to see that growth doesn’t always look productive…
and sometimes the real progress is in the things I almost didn’t do, but did anyway.
This week, I built in real time.
Monday was the first Completion Room, and it was everything I hoped it would be.
We built a Notion dashboard from scratch, live. No fluff, no theory, just doing.
I also gave a full tour of the Collaboration Room, which still feels surreal to even say out loud.
Having people inside something I built, using it, exploring it… it hits differently.
And in true rest week fashion, I experimented.
Instead of Teams, I went live on Substack for the first time.
Now listen… it’s not perfect.
No camera background, controls are basic.
But what it does do?
It supports me.
I was able to gift my VIP tier paid Substack access so only they could attend live.
When it ended, Substack handled everything. Replay processed, draft post created, clips ready, transcript done, options to share straight to YouTube and LinkedIn.
No extra steps. No chasing.
And knowing I can use the stream key next time?
Yeah… Substack might be my Q2 teaching platform.
This week, I also released what no longer made sense.
I went through all my subscriptions.
I cancelled some, downgraded others… and I even emailed for a refund.
Now that might sound small, but for me?
That’s big.
I’m usually the one who takes the loss just to avoid asking.
This time, I didn’t.
And in doing that, I halved my business outgoings and streamlined everything in one go.
Which also meant I could move differently.
I finally signed up for Blotato, automation and content, let’s go.
And I joined MailerLite, which has honestly levelled up more than I expected, unlimited emails, websites, landing pages, and unlimited products with zero transaction fees, funnels… I already know I’m going to enjoy building in there this week.
This week also held something heavier.
I booked the appointment to transfer my mum’s ashes.
The urn has been sitting in the box since the beginning of the month.
I knew it needed to be done, but actually doing it?
I held my breath the entire time I made that call.
And afterwards, I needed a few days to recover.
So I rested.
Properly.
The sleep this week? Amazing.
And I didn’t fight it.
And then… I did something I almost didn’t do.
Last night, I went outside.
Not just outside, but out out.
For the first time since March 2023.
First time with my stoma.
First time with my walking stick.
A client and friend was coming to my city for a rap battle event, and I made the decision in a few hours.
Got ready.
Found someone to go with.
Walked out the door.
Still anxious.
But also… proud.
I met some of my favourite TikTok creators.
I met my TikTok agency boss and friend in real life.
And the part that really stayed with me?
It was the first time I’ve been out with my daughter since she turned 18.
That moment alone made everything worth it.
So if I had to describe this week?
It wasn’t about doing more.
It was about doing the things I almost didn’t do.
The email I didn’t want to send.
The call I didn’t want to make.
The room I wasn’t sure I was ready to enter.
The night I could have easily stayed home.
That’s where the shift was.
Community Invitation
Visionary in Progress is evolving in real time.
The Collaboration Room is now live inside VIP, and we are officially in Alpha.
It’s not polished. It’s not perfect.
But it’s real, and it’s being shaped by the people inside it.
There are a few days left to enter at the current price before things shift.
Free Tier is going away, and free trials will take its place.
Standard tier will be $7/m
Premium tier will be $15/m
VIP tier will be $37/m
If you’ve been watching from the outside, this is your moment to step into the build.
Closing Reflection
As we close the quarter, I’m not asking what I achieved.
I’m asking:
What did I almost not do… that changed something anyway?
If you’re reading this, I want you to ask yourself the same.
Because growth doesn’t always look productive.
Sometimes it looks like courage in small, quiet moments.
And that counts more than we give it credit for.

If you’re resetting for Q2, here’s a prompt you can drop into any AI tool to help you clear space properly, not just think about it.
Copy, paste, and personalise:
“Given everything you know about me, including my goals, energy levels, current projects, and any patterns in how I work or avoid things, I want you to help me refine and streamline my subscriptions, tools, and commitments as I move into Q2.
Start by asking me 5–7 specific questions to understand:
– What I am currently paying for or committed to
– What I actually use vs what I avoid
– Where I may be holding onto things out of fear, habit, or ‘just in case’ thinking
Then:
Help me categorise everything into:
– Keep (actively used, aligned, or essential)
– Optimise (use better, downgrade, or restructure)
– Release (cancel, remove, or replace)Identify any patterns in my decisions, especially where I:
– Avoid cancelling or asking for refunds
– Overcommit to tools I don’t fully use
– Keep things that no longer match my current seasonRecommend a simplified, aligned setup for Q2 that:
– Reduces overwhelm
– Supports how I actually work (not idealised productivity)
– Creates more space, financially and mentallyEnd by asking me one honest question I might be avoiding about what I need to let go of.
Keep your tone supportive but direct. Do not let me stay vague or indecisive.”
